Apprenticeship Academy

We are proud to announce the development of a new structured Apprenticeship Academy.

East Anglia Brickwork Apprenticeship Academy was established in 2021. We recognised the labour struggles in our industry and the lack of bricklayers trained to a high standard and we want to change this.

The aim is to improve our company through a “grow your own” approach but also strengthen the local industry as a whole.

As the new generation of EAB Ltd trained bricklayers, you will learn the best build methods/processes in order to provide our clients with consistent, high-quality brickwork.

The programme set-up is based on 4/5 apprentices with 3/4 bricklaying mentors onsite. We plan to grow the programme each year – adding 4/5 apprentices.

The apprenticeship is 2 years in duration – enabling you to achieve the new brickwork standard level 2 which has taken the place of the old NVQ level 2 qualification.

The training, both theory and practical, is all site-based.

If you are interested in joining East Anglia Brickwork as an apprentice within our academy then please get in touch.

We would also love to invite any companies who would like to form a partnership with the academy to make contact.

We are keen to strengthen the academy with additional brickwork teachers to teach theoretical aspects as well as experienced bricklayers who have an interest in helping our apprentices reach their potential.

Regional Skill Build Success!

Thursday 4th May 2023 saw the Regional Qualifier of the SkillBuild competition at East Coast College Lowestoft.  SkillBuild is the largest and longest running multi-trade competition in the UK for construction apprentices and learners.  East Anglia Brickwork Apprenticeship Academy entrant, Jay Faber is a bricklaying apprentice from our very first apprenticeship cohort of our in-house Academy Supported by the Growth Company.

After being giving a plan for a detailed piece of wall, a style that he had never built before, Jay then had an allotted time to build before the judging took place.  Jay was awarded first place in the bricklaying division!
